FAQ's
How many professionals are members of Kentucky Chapter #64?
As of December 31, 2000, Kentucky Chapter #64 had approximately 40 members.
What types of backgrounds do the members of Kentucky Chapter #64 have?
Our membership is composed of a diverse group of professionals in private investigation, consulting, legal, public accounting, corporate internal auditing, state government, and law enforcement positions. Fraud investigation and examination experience of our members covers the entire spectrum from inexperienced members to those with decades of experience.
Do I have to be a Certified Fraud Examiner to join Kentucky Chapter #64?
No. A little less than half of our members do not currently hold the CFE designation, and it is not required for membership. However, one of the missions of the Chapter is to promote the CFE designation, therefore we encourage anyone who aspires to earn it. Our certified members can share their certification experience and provide insights into the process for those who are interested.
Do I have to be a member of the national Association of Certified Fraud Examiners?
No. Most of our members do belong to the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, and we encourage our members to join the ACFE, but it is not required until you wish to become certified.
Is anything required of members once they join?
While we encourage participation in all the Chapter's activities and organize them to provide our members with a cost-effective, quality, local continuing professional education source, the only requirement to maintain membership is being current with annual dues. Board of Directors and Committee position opportunities are available every year, but are entirely voluntary.
What does it cost to be a member of Kentucky Chapter #64?
Currently, annual dues are $40 for non-CFE members, $30 for CFE members, and $10 for student members. The fiscal year runs from August 1 to July 31, and dues invoices are sent in July. Individuals first joining the Chapter after the midpoint of a fiscal year (January 31) have their first year's dues pro-rated by 50%. Current meeting fees are $10 for members and $20 for guests.
